Srila Prabhupad established Sri Bhagabat-Janananda Math in Chirulia in the month of April, 1926. Srila Bhabanicharan Mahashaya, zamindar of Midnapore district was initiated from Prabhupad and after initiation he was renamed by “Sribhagabat Janananda”. His holy disappearance was occurred during Sridham Nabadwip circumambulation. After that SriBhagabat Janananda Math was established in Chirulia Basudevpore to commemorate his memories. The newly constructed temple was set up in the year 1956 by Srila Guru Maharaj and on 10^th March, 1956 the holy entrance festival of Sri Gour Binodananda Jiu was celebrated with Sri Harisankirtan.
