Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was born in Mayapur,West Bengal on the year 1486 A.D. and died on 1534 at puri, Orissa. He was dedicated follower of Lord Krishna, moreover he was considered as an avatar of Sri Krishna. He founded Gaudiya Vaishnavism. His entire life is replete with Sri krishna’s spiritualism. Sri Chaitanya advocates the Vaishnava school of “Bhakti Yoga” based on Bhagabat Gita. He universalized the chanting “Hare Krishna” mantra.

Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s Teaching:

He preached that we should devote our life in the thoughts of Lord Krishna and only by doing and following “Krishna Charcha ” our life becomes full of peace and positivity. Sri Chaitanya’s disciples only can inscribed his “Eight Instructions” in a holy book named “Siksastakam” in Sanskrit. Through this book he wanted to convey the concept that

• Krishna is the supreme power.
• Krishna is the ocean of rasa (theology).
• The Jivas (individual soul) are all scattered parts of the God.
• Pure devotion to the Lord Krishna is the only pledge of Jivas.
• The lovable blessings of the Krishna are the ultimate goal of human’s life etc.

His follower Krishnadas Kabiraja’s wrote a biography “Chaitanya Charitamrita” where he explains the bonding between Sri Chaitanya and Lord Krishna.

The devotional kirtana can only purify our heart. So practicing kirtana all the times strengthen Jivas. By showing kindness and helping the living beings is the only responsibility of our life and thus we can show love and respect to the God. He thoughts only by worshipping God Krishna our heart gets sanitized. And thus the human soul can be freed from the outside disturbance and turbulence.

And with all these idealisms Gaudiya Math was founded.  The Mahatmas of Gaudiya Math runs by the perception of good thoughts, good words and good deeds. They also relentlessly are working on the big idea of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Their only motto is to serve mankind through the paths of Chaitanya Deb.The mahatmas of Gaudiya Math want to spread out Vaishnav faith in the society for the well being of people. They adopted the sloka from the “Chaitanya Charitamrita” – “Harer nama Harer nama Harer namaiva kebalam, kalou nastyeva nastyeva nastyeva gatiranyatha” which means “The name of Hari, the name of Hari. Oh, the name of Hari alone; Nothing else in Kaliyug, nothing else, nothing else can lead us to goal.” They chant this as a kirtana in their math and follow the teaching of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the legend, the lord.
