Gaudiya Vaishnavism has a long and rich tradition of learning and pursuit of knowledge that has resulted in valuable philosophical works. Right from Shree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself to the great reformer Bhaktivinode Thakur, the history of Gaudiya Vaishnavism has been marked by the contributions of luminaries known for their remarkable scholarship. The “Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Museum” project will not only play an active role in preserving the rare texts and manuscripts but will also encourage and facilitate research and academic practices, carrying forward the scholarly tradition of Gaudiya Vaishnavism.

Gaudiya Mission has a unique collection of items such as manuscripts and rare books, from different time periods of Vaishnava Culture. These have been put together over the past several years through generous donations from different Gaudiya Vaishnava Saints to the Mission and its predecessors in different phases. This has helped to build a large collection which enhances the educational purpose of Gaudiya Mission and serve as a resource for researchers and academicians. This collection will be made available at the museum library as well as in its online counterpart, for students, scholars, and researchers.

Besides the library, the museum plans to make use of the auditorium for organizing lectures, seminars, and conferences as well as to further the other cultural aspects of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Promoting Gaudiya Kirtanas, Vaishnava dances and other Gaudiya Vaishnava art forms are among the prime objectives of the museum. Activities like story-telling, drama, demonstrations, performances of Vaishnava art by eminent artists will be conducted which will not only engage and captivate the visitors but also help to keep alive a culture among the generations to come.
