In the year 1918 during Gour Jayanti , Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami being initiated himself to Sanyasa Ashram, inaugurated ‘Sri Chaitanya Math’ at Mayapur as a centre for anyone and everyone who believed in ‘Daiva Varnashram’. This noble initiative was marked as the first foundation of Gaudiya Math & Mission. Later in the same year, to spread the philosophy of Sriman Mahaprabhu in the whole world, a house at No.1 Ultadingi Junction Road in Kolkata was rented to set up Gaudiya Math, which was in the year 1930, sifted to Baghbazar. Within a very short frame of time his mmense effort gifted the world “Jivanta- Mridanga” or Sadhus, 64 preaching centres around the world promoting Gaudiya Vaishnavism and Bhakti Scriptures in printed form through “Brihad-Mridanga” Jantralay or press.

Today, the tree plant by Prabhupad has transformed to a great Baniyan tree to cover the world. The tireless efforts of his disciples through Gaudiya Maths have realised the dreams cherished by Bhakti Vinod-Prabhupada and are growing in leaps and bounds to spread the universal love and brotherhood irrespective of any caste , creed and colour in the society, as taught by Sriman Mahprabhu.

In order to celebrate this successful initiative of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami and the Centenary Celebration of Gaudiya Math and Mission, we have organized an Inaugural session of the Three Year long Centenary Celebration at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata on 21st February.
