Shri Chaitanya And His Connection With Lord Krishna

When you speak of Hindu philosophy and religion, the one name that comes to your mind is that of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He is a complete package of Hindu philosophy and a distinct theologian too. It was Shri Chaitanya who proposed the idea of Achintya Bheda Abheda and Gaudiya Vaishnavism.

Also, he started the school for Bhakti Yoga where only holy devotion to God was practiced. People believed that Chaitanya was Lord Krishna himself in disguise. It was Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who popularized the hymn ‘Hare Krishna’. Hindus all over the world celebrate his birthday under the name of Guru Purnima.

Sometimes, he is referred to by the name of ‘Gauranga’. It was his fair complexion that acquired him this name. Again, people call him by the name of ‘Nimai’ too because he took birth under a Neem tree.

The meaning of his name ‘Chaitanya’ has a deeper meaning. Chaitanya means ‘living force’, Maha stands for ‘great’ and Prabhu means ‘Lord’.

Since it was believed that Chaitanya was Lord Krishna himself in disguise, there are a lot of scriptures written about it.
